2. Copyright v2.0: New code to shield software

NEW DELHI: The government plans to introduce a legislation empowering software makers in their fight against the sale of unauthorised copies of their products, as it looks to crack down on rampant piracy in the country where nearly three-fourths of the software used is pirated.

3. Infotech law amendment to tackle cyber crime

The government will introduce in parliament next month changes to the country’s information technology law framed in 2000 to aid a crackdown on cyber crimes, a senior official from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology told Hindustan Times on Thursday.

5.Ministry proposes 25% public holding floor

To introduce more transparency and public participation in the stock market, the finance ministry has proposed raising the public shareholding limit for listed companies to at least 25 per cent from the existing 10 per cent. The ministry has invited public responses to its discussion paper on this subject by February 28.
